Today, February 20, 2025, President Biya’s articles of basic necessities reached elderly persons, persons with disabilities, and the needy in Maga, Mayo Danay Division of the Far North Region of Cameroon. The items were distributed by the S.D.O. Jean Lazard Ndongo Ndongo, assisted by a team from the Civil Protection Department of MINAT, led by the Director, Madame Ndzie Ntsama Angèle. The head of state’s largesse in Maga was handed to more than 2,500 persons drawn from 300 families with the aim to give dignity to their lives. There were food items like rice and oil, other basic necessities like soap, blankets, and buckets, and agricultural tools like hoes and cutlasses, among others. In addition to the Head of State’s gift to the needy in Maga, it also saw the distribution of financial compensation and farm tools to some rice farmers. The compensation of farmers in the locality began on February 17 by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, which is aimed at succouring farmers who were asked to halt cultivation for their farms to be rehabilitated.
